Skeletor Statue Work in Progress

A behind-the-scenes look at the latest Skeletor-inspired statue in progress on the Binary Atlas workbench.

There is something special about this stage of a build: the quiet chaos before the character comes together. This Skeletor-inspired statue is currently in progress on the Binary Atlas workbench, printed, cleaned, and prepped for paint.

Right now the piece is still separated into its main components, which makes it easier to reach the detail work before final assembly. The armor, limbs, staff elements, and body sections will each get their own attention before everything locks into place.

This is the part of the process where the final personality starts to show. Primer and prep may not look flashy yet, but they set the foundation for the color, shadows, highlights, and finish that make a statue feel like a real display piece instead of just a print.

More updates coming as this Skeletor piece moves from raw parts to a finished hand-painted collectible.

Paint Progress Update

The Skeletor piece has moved from prep into real paint work now, with the main components separated so each section can be sprayed cleanly before final assembly. The purple and blue tones are starting to define the character, while the darker armor and base pieces are being worked separately to keep the finish crisp. This is the stage where the statue finally starts shifting from printed parts into a display-ready collectible.

Color Blocking and First Character Pass

The Skeletor statue has moved into the stage where the character really starts to show. The bright blue skin, purple hood and armor, and yellow-green skull face are now blocked in, giving the piece its classic color read before the final refinement work begins.

There is still cleanup, shading, highlights, and detail work ahead, especially around the face, hood texture, armor edges, and muscle definition. But this is the fun turning point: the print is no longer just a set of painted parts, it is clearly becoming Skeletor.

Final Paint and Varnish Stage

Quick final-stage update: the paint work on Skeletor is complete, and the piece is now waiting for the varnish to fully dry. Once the protective coat has cured, the remaining step is final assembly and gluing everything into place.

This is the last quiet pause before the statue comes together as a finished display piece.
